ONE: Reduce your exposure

This is your first line of defence. Since heavy metals can silently sabotage your health, it’s important to develop an awareness of the most common sources of heavy metal exposure so you can reduce your risk.

Tap water — contaminated with heavy metals like lead, arsenic, and cadmium. Consider using a water filter that is known to remove these contaminants or better yet, invest in a water distiller. This is the one I use: >Distiller<

Certain foods — large fish such as tuna and swordfish frequently exceed safety levels for mercury exposure and tests show rice is commonly contaminated with arsenic.

Dental fillings — metal fillings are up to 50% mercury by weight. Over time, they begin to deteriorate, slowly leaching mercury into the body.

Beauty products — cosmetics like lipstick, eyeliner, blush, hair dye, and even shampoo can contain unsafe concentrations of heavy metals.

TWO: Perform safe detox protocols

There are 3 main ways I like;

TRS — a very gentle approach with nano sized particles for detox at a cellular level

Making binder cocktails — different binders have different affinities to metals, so combining these can be an effective method for targeting a range of metals (I advise also adding psyllium husks to prevent constipation)

Humid/fulvic acid — binds and chelates heavy metals and environmental toxins, whilst promoting healing where chelation has taken place. I recommend Black Oxygen Organics, linked here: >Black Oxygen<

Other consideration — parasites hold heavy metals so factor in parasite cleansing too

THREE: Protect yourself with antioxidants

Once a heavy metal gets into your body (before it’s stored in your tissues), it starts causing damage to every cell in its path. They can cause oxidative damage which can ultimately lead to inflammation, DNA damage, organ damage, physical ageing and numerous other symptoms.

Antioxidants shield your cells from oxidative damage, making them ideal for supporting your body during heavy metal cleansing. You can find these in most fruit and vegetables, but especially berries.

When tackling heavy metals, start small in your approach but be consistent.
