It all starts with our diet and our environment. Depending what we consume and absorb, depends on the transit time of our stool. When this slows down, faecal matter starts to rot, becomes dehydrated and the quality of our stool is altered. This lays in the colon and feeds the bad bacteria and fungi, causing them to proliferate. As these are alive, they create their own toxic waste in their colon, which are slightly toxic to us. Calcium is consumed and released in this negative environment, which becomes less bio-available for absorption into the blood. Calcium is important for many bodily functions, one of which is balancing the blood’s pH. To prevent acidity, the bones leach stored calcium, which over time contributes to osteoporosis. This harmful bacterial waste enters the blood, like ammonia and methanes, which can cause depression.

The first thing to consider here is that a toxic, congested colon can contribute to disease. This is why colon cleansing is crucial for maintaining good health and why what we ingest is so important. For example, soft drinks measure 2.5 on the pH scale, which is similar to battery acid. How long this takes to create an internal toxic environment varies from person to person. The more acidic our diet is, the more calcium will leach from our bones to compensate. If we consume chemicals, such as antibiotics, medication, pesticides, tap water, etc. these chemicals kill the good bacteria, including those within the small intestine. Food breaks down in the stomach but is absorbed in the small intestine. Good bacteria helps this process by enabling the villi to suck in nutrition. The small intestinal bacterium are called acidophilus because their waste is acidic. This acid helps iron to be bioavailable so that the villi can pass iron into the blood. If there are chemicals, these will kill the acidophilus. The iron molecules can’t get into the blood and the iron will make the stool harden further in the colon. The villi will suck up these chemicals and send them to the liver, where they end up killing further bacteria. Now the liver is more toxic.

The liver detoxifies the blood, but without beneficial bacteria, what detoxifies the liver? The liver begins to store the molecules of these chemicals, which resist water and so the liver loses moisture. Another job of the liver is to create bile which is then stored in the gallbladder. As the stomach releases food into the small intestine, the gallbladder secretes bile into it. Bile acts like soap to wash the grease from the food particles. Now the bacteria and enzymes can break apart the nutrition so the villi can suck it up. BUT, a dry and exhausted liver produces less bile and with less bile soap, some of the nutrition remains coated in fat. This inhibits nutrient absorption and fat assimilation. Not absorbed, this passes into the colon where water is removed. The fat then hardens which bonds to the minerals, further hardening. Calcium will not absorb through the colon wall.

Meanwhile, back in the small intestine, bacterial acids have been preventing yeasts from multiplying. When the good bacteria is destroyed, yeasts proliferate. Yeast can now attach to the small intestine lining (SIBO) and sends its roots through the lining causing it to leak. The body’s natural line of protection has been breached. Undigested food particles start leaking into the blood and trigger an auto immune response. Certain types of undigested food particles, like wheat, soya, peanuts, etc. can trigger histamines and an allergic reaction. The yeast also escapes into the blood, scavenging critical iron (which can lead to a B12 deficiency) and consuming sugar to grow and reproduce. The yeast, known as candida, is a poison. The blood is pumping through the liver which is attempting to filter the candida out.

This is a bit of a crisis so the liver creates its own anti-fungal secretion called Hesperin. However, this inhibits communication between the liver and the thyroid dysfunction. Basic metabolism is unable to properly regulate. Stomach acid declines which produces vitamin B12 and energy starts to crash. Sugar cravings increase to meet the energy needs, which the body converts to fat. With toxicity in the liver and blood, plus a growing sack of stool at the bottom end, this person is about to become even more sick / toxic / depressed / tired. With the internal terrain acidic, toxic, polluted and backed up, harmful organisms and parasites will thrive, which further exacerbate the problem (and symptoms). This is why people will change their diet but fail to see results. The problems run too deep at this point. The body must be helped to cleanse and detoxify in order to regain control. Heal the gut, colon cleanse, liver cleanse, parasite cleanse, rebalance the microbiome, increase nutrition and improve absorption.

Another important consideration is that all food sensitivities must be removed from the diet in order for the gut to heal. All the while we are consuming these foods, there will be an internal inflammatory response and the toxic cycle will continue. Lastly, we often wonder why our body has failed us. Why isn’t our immune system doing its job and stepping in? Simply put, it’s too overburdened. It’s bogged down trying to deal with the inflammation, toxicity, fungi, yeast, bacterium, harmful organisms….. Cleansing the body helps us to support our immune system by reducing this weight. When we focus on altering the body’s terrain, the body can then step in and start to heal itself.
